some advertise FREE Domain Registration.  YES, it's free until you decide to move to a different company.

when the customer decides to move their domain to a different location they quickly realise that their arenot the administrative contact and therefore cannot make any changes. 

When you register your own domain name yourself, you are completely in charge and that's exactly what you want.
